Instrument Rating
An instrument rating is a required rating to add to your pilot certificate for several reasons. It will add precision to your flying, build skills to keep you safe in low visibility environments, teach you how to turn down flights when the going gets rough and makes you employable! Many of the 56 distinct missions helicopters do require an instrument rating. Learn to control the aircraft by reference to your flight instruments.
If you are a pursuing a professional career as a helicopter pilot, this rating is a must. We suggest working on it concurrently with your Commercial Certificate as the hours you build cover a couple of different requirements.
Like the Private Pilot Certificate, We recommend adeliberate approach to this rating to build skills forward and minimize the requirement to fly extra hours to achieve your rating.
